A trip to a friend's house

Charmaine, Keif, Ue Tzs and I were going to Kai Jie's house to discuss our Chinese show and tell. This time, the show and tell was done in groups. Each group would be given scripts and we had to act out different roles. Ue Tzs was the cow, Keif was the frog, Charmaine was the bee, Kai Jie was the rooster and I was the narrator. They put on their props and we role played it over and over again.

Later on we went down to eat pork chop. Although I never ate it before, I did not say anything. We bought some nuggets to take away because Kai Jie did not finish his homework yet. After that, we watched Ant Bully. Kai Jie threw a tantrum when his mother said he could not watch until he finish his work. It was a very memorable day for me.

VJC science and maths fair

We were going to the science and maths fair at Victoria Junior College. When we reached there, the first thing I saw was their canteen. At first, I thought it was a nearby hawker centre. Next, we went into a room with many children from other schools crowding around tables. I looked around to see if there was anything interesting. Then, we went to a similar room which had different games. I played a game called "Fishing". It was a game that you had to catch fish using a hook in a big bottle. It was a little bit harder than I thought because you had to press the middle of the bottle while steering the hook in the bottle.

We also got to play some maths games in their maths focus room. Si Hui and I played one of the games together. With a little help from Jia Le, we won a prize. Next time when I have to go to college, I might choose VJC.

SYF arts and craft exhibition

It was time to go to the SYF arts and craft exhibition. We were given a handout on the bus. I thought the other students who were going to the exhibition would feel very bored when looking at the pictures because I didn't think they liked art. But I was feeling the opposite, I was looking forward to this day ever since I heard the news.

As we walked in, we could feel cool air blowing at our faces. We sat down patiently and waited for a very, very long time. Some of us started doing the first question:"Sketch your favourite picture.". Most of us sketched the picture of "Dialogue". Meanwhile, I noticed that Charmaine kept using her phone to SMS other people. After a long wait, it was finally our turn to go in to see the artwork. It was quite hard to find the pictures that were written on the handout because the hallways were curved.

After we finished it, we explored the others drawings. It was one of my most enjoyable days in my life.

Great World City

Last Saturday, my mother brought me and my sister to watch "Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix" show. My brother didn't come along, he said he wanted to stay at home to play computer games. In anyway, he might not enjoy the show because it is very long and there are certain shots that are quite frightening.

The show is at Great World City and we reached there early. To kill the time, we went shopping in the mall. My sister wanted a Barbie Doll toy, I don't quite like it but since I can't find anything else I like, I agreed to share the toy with my sister. My mother bought a Transformer toy for my brother. He is crazy about the toy recently because of the advertisement on the TV. I don't understand what is the so great about the movie and the toy. I think it is boring.

After shopping, we went to watch the show. There were a lot of advertisements before the show and we waited quite a while before it started. I think the story line was nothing interesting. I did not enjoy the show. However, I was still quite happy because it was a rare occasion that we went to the cinema to watch movie. The tickets are so expensive nowadays. It will be cheaper to rent or buy DVDs and watch at home.

Maths olympiad training

I had been chosen by the school to enter the Maths Olympiad training. At first I was afraid that I would be learning more difficult maths. But in the end, I found out that we would be learning things about maths example:sums like this 2+2-2x2=4 is wrong. The correct answer is 0. That is because we should always do multiplication and division first. I don't want to be rude, but, I also noticed that the teacher was very strange looking because his eyes seemed to stick together which made him look funny. I can't wait until my next lesson and I hope it will be interesting.

china 7000 years of innovation at science centre

When we were sitting in the bus, I could feeling my whole body tingling with excitement. Although I had went to the science centre during the June holidays, this was the first time I was going to the science centre with my classmates. We went through a hallway with 3d faces that look like they were staring at us as if we came from a different planet. A lady stamped our hands as we walked pass the counter. Then, we had to get our hands stamped another time. Finally, we could enter the place which would tell us about the past.

"Wow!" I exclaimed as we entered the big room. Firstly, the guide told us about the different dynasties. Next, he showed us some of the things people used to tell the time and things that they used to find out about solar system. We also found out how people made paper, how they printed words on paper and about the four great inventions and the four people who invented them. After we reached school, our chinese teacher gave out badges. I had a wonderful time and I hope we can have excursions like that again.
